LETS BRING BACK: Waist buckles

This picture was taken in 1972 in Darwin Australia, Sarah Noel's mother was 21 at the time. She later met Sarah's dad and moved to California to raise her but says Sarah "never let motherhood stop her from rock'n the latest trends with class and style."

Oh wow. I want her look of disinterest! The best I can come up with is bored-and-kind-of-sleepy.

great picture! tried on a blue jean dress similar to this one a few weeks ago at forever 21 very disappointed to say that it was a bit too tight and they did not carry the next size up pretty tragic though since it was on clearence for $10.00

She just exudes that "I just emerged from a low-slung California-chic ranch-style home, complete with an in-ground pool, there's Chex mix in the kitchen darlings" glamour.

I like waist details on dresses. From my vintage escapades, it seems like the emphasis on the waist (in terms of jazzy details involving hardware or exciting belts) has been ignored since the mid 70's.
