Diamonds and Pearls
In honor of my mother Kaye Woodhouse,
In the early '60's, her name was Kaye Black and she was an opera singer in the Los Angeles area. Some of the best memories I have of my childhood are of watching my mom's performances. This shot was one of two poses she did for publicity shots. I remember going to the hairdresser's with her that day. She thought the french roll was too tight, and never did like this picture. But looking at it now, I think she looks the way she always did when she performed - Glamorous! I can still smell the Occur perfume, hear her deep vocal tones, and see the sparkle of her jewelry under the stage lights. She was a loving mother and a talented lady!
Love, Lyssa Black
